Every year, I have struggled with things to give up as I think I live pretty minimally. However, I have seen a lot of articles reporting the benefits of coffee vs. tea and it made me curious. I figured now would be the perfect time to make this (temporary) swap and see what happened.
So I present to you the Coffee vs Tea Showdown!
The Rules:
1-Beginning on March 5 and ending on April 20, Yerba Mate will replace my daily cup of coffee. I am not looking to eliminate caffeine and I also find I enjoy the morning ritual of brewing coffee to be relaxing and important to my routine so I figure brewing tea with caffeine will be a suitable replacement (also, it'll help reduce variables!).
2-After the morning cup of yerba mate, all other teas consumed must be herbal/caffeine free. I don't want to over stimulate myself with caffeine so this is meant to prevent me from drinking more caffeine to "off set" the smaller amounts of caffeine in the Yerba mate compared to coffee.
3-Judgement will be based on:
A: Cost per cup and
B: How I feel. This is subjective but I will keep a record of how the slightly lower caffeine in yerba mate compares to the mental/physical effects of the caffeine in coffee.
